Over the course of six enriching years from 1999 to 2005, I started my journey as a dentist. The vibrant academic environment and diverse clinical exposure at the University of Coimbra, not only equipped me with a solid foundation in dentistry but also fostered personal growth, resilience, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Graduating from the University of Coimbra in 2005, I emerged not only as a qualified dentist but also as a compassionate healthcare professional ready to make a positive impact on patients' lives.
I have started my professional journey as a general dentist in Viseu, Portugal, from 2005 to 2012. These formative years were marked by a dynamic blend of clinical challenges, continuous learning, and compassionate interactions with diverse individuals seeking oral health support. Guided by the principles instilled during my education, I strived to provide comprehensive dental services, ranging from routine check-ups to complex treatments, while prioritizing patient comfort and well-being
Beyond the classroom and hospital, the city's captivating history, architecture, and people enriched my journey, creating memories that remain etched in my professional and personal growth. This experience not only solidified my expertise in advanced oral surgery but also cultivated a global perspective that continues to shape my approach to patient care.
In the years 2010-2011, I embarked on an immersive journey by undertaking an intensive implant course with Nobel Biocare/Clínica dos Carvalhos, Porto, Portugal. The course provided me with a solid foundation and invaluable insights into the latest techniques, technologies, and best practices in implantology.
I had the privilege of working within a team of very skilled professionals at MaloClinic. This experience not only refined my technical skills but also deepened my understanding of the vital role dentistry plays in enhancing individuals' quality of life by following a holistic approach to treatment. The innovative approaches I encountered at MaloClinic continue to shape my practice and drive my commitment to delivering the highest standard of care to my patients.
In October 2013, a new chapter of my life unfolded as I embarked on a transformative journey by moving to the UK. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of an exciting adventure that would ultimately shape my career path. Enrolling in the MSC in Endodontics program at King's College London was a defining decision, igniting my passion for the intricacies of root canal treatments and endodontic care.
In 2015, I decided to shift my trajectory from a successful general dentist, a role I had held since 2005, to dedicating my practice exclusively to the realm of Endodontics. This pivotal decision was fueled by a fervent desire to deepen my expertise and provide unparalleled care in a specialized field. This transition marked a turning point in my career, allowing me to delve into the intricate complexities of root canal treatments, diagnostics, and advanced techniques. With each case, I embraced the challenges and nuances that endodontics presented, driven by a commitment to excellence and a passion for elevating patient outcomes.
From 2016 to 2020, I underwent an intensive and transformative specialist training in Endodontics at King's College London. These four years were a crucible of learning, where I honed my skills and expertise under the guidance of world-renowned faculty and mentors. The program's comprehensive curriculum combined cutting-edge research, advanced clinical techniques, and a deep understanding of complex endodontic cases. This period of focused immersion not only refined my technical abilities but also fostered a profound appreciation for the art and science of endodontics.
Following the completion of my specialist training at King's College London with distinction and being awarded Membership in Endodontics by the Royal College of Surgeons, my inclusion on the GDC's specialist list was a meaningful milestone. It motivates me to continually uphold the highest standards in patient-centered practice and contribute to the advancement of the field.
